A very uneventful day after thanksgiving

I keep blogging today because there is not much else to do. This morning I wanted to get up early and drink a cup of coffee on the porch in the peace and quite. And watch the deer venture into the yard. Only the bravest of them do such things at this time of the year. But when I woke up the boys were already awake. So! You know what they say, If you can't beat 'em join 'em. So I joined with the girls and I went back to bed. Then when I did wake up I did nothing. I just finished watching Airplane II: The Sequel with Mom. "Is funny how irony can be so ironic at times." haha! Love it! Anyway. To say the least today has been a very uneventful day so far. In fact this post is very uneventful. If you are reading this I suggest you stop now. You are just wasting your time! hehe! Maybe I will have something interesting to write later on.

Yesterday

Yesterday I found a cow. Not just any cow but a Belted Galloway! Not just and Belted Galloway but a heard of them! And not just any heard but a heard with a owner who is willing to let me show them! How awesome is that! It has been a year since I last showed. Even if I do show with him we probably will not go to a show until next fall. Who knows though. We will see! Very exciting! I can not wait!!! :)

Rural Boys at 13

There is something about when a boy that was raised in the south and and in the country turns 13. They suddenly go from having a healthy level of interest in John Deere and the civil war to an insane level of obsession! But it seems to only last a year thankfully. Then it goes back down to a normal level. Every thirteen year old boy I know now wants a rebel flag on everything he owns, a gun to shot everything in sight, camo everything (including duct tape), and has more John Deere t-shirts than the tractor supply! I moved out to the country when I was thirteen so I did not know many local boys. But the few I knew were the same way. So this brings to question. . . What happens to city boys at thirteen? Maybe they become obsessed with sports! Oh! And another good question! What was I obsessed with at 13? Easy answer. Cows. I had just started showing cows! The beginning of my immersion into country life! hehe!

Black Friday

Why do they place such an evil day right after a day of thanks? Thursday is all about giving and being thankful and then Friday is all about selfishness and fulfilling desires of earthly possessions. Unless I ever have a need for something that I could not afford without the black Friday discounts I think I will always stay home on black Friday. It is an evil, evil day. That is all I have to say about black Friday.

My Beard

I thought I would share one of my all time favorite poems with y'all. Here it goes.

My Beard
My beard grows to my toes,
I never wears no clothes,
I wrap my hair
Around my bare,
And down the road I goes.

From Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein
Classic. What more can I say?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I will not have internet access tomorrow so I am giving my Happy Thanksgivings a day early. We are headed out to my Grandma's tonight! I can not wait! I wish our whole family would get together for thanksgiving but Grandma does not like that. So it is just my family of 7 and her. Some of my cousins might drop in! Might is a loosely used term. I am so excited for all the food! I love cooking for Thanksgiving! I have so much to be thankful for! I have amazing family and friends! What more could I need? What would I do without all y'all?!?!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Cowboy boots equals outside

So my youngest brother is fifteen months old. He is really small for his age. In fact he is only just now 21 pounds. We call him Big E. Of course that is not his real name, but it is quite the ironic nickname don't you think? He loves to be outside! Always, anytime, rain, snow, cold, hot, morning, night, whatever, and whenever! As soon as he finishes breakfast every morning he heads for the back door and starts banging on it for someone to take him outside! It is so cute! Well his new trick is to go get my cowboy boots and bring them too me. Then he points to or hits my feet until I put them on. Once I start to put them on he runs to the door and starts banging on it. Of course by then I have shoes on and he has my attention. Then I have no good reason to say no. So he wins. Every time. He is a schemer! It is always the little ones!
The moral of this story: Hide your cowboy boots.

Thanksgiving break

I am on school break. Fun! Well. It is sorta, kinda, boring. Although being bored now and again can be fun! I got all crafty and creative! I took three of the kids outside and we each painted a piece of wood! Why did we paint a piece of wood, you may ask? I don't rightly know. But why not? They came out wonderful! Whenever I get batteries for my camera I will try to remember to take pics of beautiful artwork and I will upload them. Crafty things can be fun but very stressful with a group of children. But in the end I think they all had fun! I think I will continue enjoying my boredom now. Maybe I will bake something? Who knows! The possibilities are endless! I might go for another walk! Todays weather is just beautiful! Wow this post is getting quite random, is it not? I guess there is no better note to end a post on!
See ya!

The reason for blogging

Many people blog for many reasons. Each one as good as another. I blog to follow my life! Make sense? Yea. I guess not. I guess I am just blogging to keep track of the happenings in my life and my thoughts as these years go by. I throughly enjoy writing so why not start a blog? This blog is really for me but hopefully you will find some enjoyment in reading it! I do lead an interesting life! I am the oldest of five children! Yes that is right, 5. And I love them all! They are the best and strangest siblings anyone could ask for! If you are shocked or appalled at that number you should see some of the families we hang out with! We are almost a small family! :) On top of that we are all homeschooled! And we moved out to the country three years ago. We live on a small "farm". Farm is in quotes because we actually have no animals. Just lots of land with lots of fruit and nut trees but we don't really know what to do with them. Green acres much? yes. I used to show cows. I hope to start doing that again soon. And I used to ride horses. I do not have enough time for that these days. I trail ride occasionally with friends. I love music. Country mostly. I play keyboard and I hope to learn to play guitar this year. I kinda sorta play guitar. I know about three chords. So I plan on expanding my guitar skills this year. I have the greatest friends in the world! Yep thats right! I hope you know some of them because they are awesome! So that is me in a nutshell!

My Mother is a Murderer

I know this may shock many readers. Please do not let young children read this post. This is some R rated stuff.

Have the children left yet?

Okay.

I found out today that my mother is a murderer. I am just as shocked as you are! I had no idea! We were driving down the highway (we headed to the city for a doctors appointment) when out of nowhere the poor helpless little creature decides to dash across a four lane highway. With no regard to the young creatures life my mother crushes it under the tire. She murdered it! I do not believe she felt any sense of remorse either! That poor, innocent, soda can will never see its mother again.
